Motorsport Ireland National Autotest Championship

The IrishAutotesting.com MI National Autotest Championship provides the ultimate test of car control. â€‹This year the top drivers on our island will battle it out in their respective sections, across 8 rounds spread across the country, to take home national titles!

Drivers in the "Lightweight Championship" tackle the most complex tests around to push their highly modified, or specially built, machines to the limit. These layouts are a step above those seen on Club and Regional Championships - the tests are on par with those seen at International events and other national series such as the MSUK and NI Championships. The overall champion is awarded the "Hewison Trophy", one of the most prestigious trophies in Ireland dating back almost 100 years!

The "Roadgoing Championship", a new competition for 2026, will see the competitors who drive production cars compete for the Ascot Trophy. Test layouts are more open and flowing - designed to be suited to heavier cars, many of which are used for multiple disciplines such as MVATs, Endurance Trials, Production Car Trials and Lanes Rallies!

The "Challenge" is open to drivers of lightweight cars who prefer to drive the more open tests used in the Roadgoing Championship.

The "Novice Championship" is open to up and coming drivers competing in both lightweight and production cars, and uses the test layouts featured in the Roadgoing and Challenge sections of the competition. The overall winner will receive the Europa Cup, with class awards for the top Lightweight and Roadgoing drivers.
